Rites Held Here For Miss Mary Kramer
Funeral rites were held in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Atkinson Thursday morning for Miss Mary Kramer, 78, who spent a lifetime serving as housekeeper for priests in many Catholic parishes in Nebraska.

Miss Kramer died Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Long Pine where for the past three years she has been employed as housekeeper by Father Barry. She had been a patient in the Barrett hospital about a month proceeding her death.

The Rev. Grobal, retired priest from Long Pine, read the 10 o’clock service here yesterday.

Burial was in St Joseph cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Kramer, John Kramer, Carl Bernt, all of Stuart, and Harold Grof, Aloius Wewed and Conrad Straka of Atkinson

Miss Kramer was born in Bohemia about 1872. She came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Kramer, when she was a small girl. She devoted her life to the duties of housekeeping for priests.

During temporary periods of unemployment, Miss Kramer made her home in Atkinson with the Misses Ella and Mabelle Bauman.

She is survived by a half-sister, Mrs. Albert Timmermans who lives in Missouri, two half-brothers, John Kramer, Genoa, Neb., and Mike Kramer, Glendo, Wyo., and many relatives and friends in this vicinity.

Mrs. Albert Timmermans and John Kramer were among those who came here to attend the funeral.

Obituary of Maria Haring, mother of Maring Kramer.


MRS. MARIA HARING
Mrs. Maria Haring passed away at her home in Wetaskiwin on Sunday, January 24th, after a lingering illness at the age of 82 years. Deceased was born in Tieberschlag, Austria, on November 2, 1860. She immigrated to the United States in 1901 and lived there until coming to Canada in 1906. They settled in the district west of Ponoka and lived there for four years, then moved to the Usona district, where she resided until she came to Wetaskiwin in 1927. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Henry Kramer, two sons, John and Frank, all of the Usona district, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her in 1932; also one son lost in the last world war.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Father J. R.
McDonald, were held at the Sacred Heart church Wednesday mourning last.
Interment took place in the Sacred Heart cemetery. Campbell Funeral Chapel

Burial was in Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo, Schrader-Prell Funeral Home in Charge. (Note: Glend was town Frances Schneider Hyde was buried.)

Dead Man Found In Basement
Matthew Francis Kramer, 43, was found dead in his room in the basement of Nick Suchoplas’ house on 50 street here, last Monday about noon.

He had been dead about two days.

The body was discovered by Lyle Layden, who lives in another part of the basement in the same house. Mr. Layden had not seen him around for a few days, and entered his room to check.

Dr. G. C. Haworth, coroner, decided that an inquest was not necessary. An investigation showed that Mr. Kramer’s death was sudden, due to a heart seizure, probably on Saturday.

The deceased worked at N. J. Miller & Co. here in Laconbe. His mother, Mrs. Mary Kramer, resides at Ponoka. It is believed the funeral is being held at Ponona today. (1955)
